A chiral inverse Faraday effect mediated by an inversely designed plasmonic antenna

Abstract The inverse Faraday effect is a magneto-optical process allowing the magnetization of matter by an optical excitation carrying non-zero spin light. This phenomenon was considered until now as symmetric; right or left circular polarizations generate magnetic fields oriented in direction light propagation counter-propagating direction. Here, we demonstrate that manipulating density plasmonic nanostructure, chiral effect, creating strong field 500 mT only for one helicity light, opposite producing this mirror structure. new concept opens way to generation with unpolarized finding application ultrafast manipulation domains and processes, such precession, currents waves, skyrmion dichroism, direct applications data storage processing technologies.
